Our appointment was scheduled on a day when I had too much on my plate and was contemplating canceling. I showed up with the intention of blowing through the session, but James put me at ease. In my opinion the term "Artist" is a description too loosely applied today. You can't just pick up a brush, or step on a stage or pick up a camera and proclaim that you are an Artist. My belief is that there are certain criteria one must have to be considered an Artist. An original approach, a sense of the contrast and balance of human existence, a drive to "leave it all on the field" when pursuing your craft- these are all some of the requirements to be considered an "Artist." It takes courage.
